A Goal for Research

The Italian National Football Team, led by Gennaro Gattuso, is taking part in “A Goal for Research”, a campaign promoted by AIRC Foundation on the occasion of its 60th anniversary. During the World Cup qualifying matches against Moldova and Norway, the Azzurri — with Gianluigi Buffon as team leader and AIRC ambassador — are supporting the 5,000 AIRC researchers working to fight cancer. 

The initiative, organized in collaboration with FIGC, Serie A League, Enilive, and AIA, invites fans and citizens to contribute through donations to make cancer increasingly treatable. Among the ambassadors are Acerbi, De Silvestri, and Marchisio, united in promoting research and prevention.
